Sompo International appoints new global aviation head
Patrick Cove has joined Sompo International’s global specialty reinsurance team as global head of aviation reinsurance, responsible for airline hull and liability, aircraft manufacturers' products liability, and general aviation risks.
Cove reports to Adrian Poxon, executive vice president and head of global specialty reinsurance. He will be based in the company’s Zurich office.
He was formerly at Qatar Re, where he was most recently head of aviation & marine treaty reinsurance. Prior to that, he held underwriting roles with several other leading insurers.
Sompo International said that with over 20 years of aviation treaty experience in both the London and Zurich markets, Cove’s technical expertise in this market will be instrumental as he assumes responsibility for this product line offering.
