Qatar Re hires liability head from New Re

Qatar Re has announced the appointment of Stephan Rappaz, formerly of New Re, as global head of liability, effective December 1st, 2014.

Rappaz joins from New Re where, most recently, he was head of casualty underwriting. Prior assignments at New Re include head of underwriting UK, Ireland and Nordic countries as well as senior treaty and facultative underwriting roles.

He has previously worked at Swiss Re where he became facultative casualty underwriter for the European and Latin American markets.
