Neon hires property exec from Chubb Bermuda

Neon has appointed Dwayne Hunt as senior vice president (SVP) of property insurance in its Bermuda office, effective December 1, 2016.

Prior to Neon, Hunt served as SVP and property manager at Chubb Bermuda, where he held shared underwriting responsibility for the mature excess global property book of business.

Before that, he held underwriting roles at Arch Insurance and XL Insurance in Bermuda, focusing on the North American property market.

In June 2016 Neon opened a Bermuda office to offer more access to local and US markets as the company expands its international presence.

Neon Bermuda, led by Chris Fisher, CEO, is focused on writing direct and facultative property insurance on a global basis as an approved coverholder for Neon.

Fisher said: “I’m delighted to announce the hire of such a well-respected and experienced underwriter to the Bermuda office. Dwayne is a highly regarded local underwriter with strong client and broker relationships on the Island, as well as in the US. His hire demonstrates that since our launch, Neon Bermuda has continued to provide an attractive platform for top local talent.

“The opening of the Bermuda office earlier this year was a strong statement of our bold plans to expand Neon’s international presence and we look forward to working with Dwayne in order to grow our compelling and relevant proposition for property clients in strategically important markets.”
