Lancashire Holdings announces 2020 AGM and publication of annual report

Bermuda-based insurer Lancashire Holdings' AGM will take place on 29 April 2020 12.30pm Bermuda time at its Hamilton head office.

Shareholders entered on the register of members at close of business on March 31 2020 will be entitled to attend and vote at the meeting, either in person or by proxy. Shareholders will also be able to attend via a video link at the Lancashire Group’s London office.

Notice of the 2020 AGM, a form of proxy, a form of direction for holders of depository interests and the annual report and accounts for the year ended 31 December 2019 were posted to shareholders on March 9, 2020.

Lancashire saw a significant hike in profits in 2019, with a net profit after tax of $117.9 million, compared to $37.5 at the end of 2018. Gross written premiums for the full year 2019 were $707.6 million, also up year on year, with the figure having been $638.5 million in 2018. Its combined ratio fell to 80.9 percent, down from 92.2 percent.

Alex Maloney, the group chief executive officer, said the results reflected the measured pricing improvement across the insurance market, and Lancashire’s disciplined underwriting approach.
