Capsicum Re hires JLT execs for partner roles

Capsicum Re, has added Alistair Lockhart-Smith and Jerry Reeves to its marine & energy specialty business, as a managing partner and partner respectively. The specialist reinsurance broker, has offices in both Bermuda and London.  Lockhart-Smith was previously deputy chairman of global business at JLT Re, having initially joined JLT Risk Solutions in 2000 as head of marine and energy reinsurance. In 1992 he founded Bradstock Lockhart-Smith, an energy reinsurance broker, before selling it in 1996 whereupon he became deputy chairman of Bradstock Blunt and Crawley. Reeves joins from JLT where he was head of UK facultative division and a member of the JLT Re executive committee as head of marine & energy international. In 1986 he joined Bradstock, Byrne & Partners as a founding member, which became the marine and energy reinsurance division in 1990 and was sold to JLT in 2000. Lockhart-Smith said: “We are in a challenging market and there has never been a greater need to deliver innovative products that respond to what customers need.
