BMA confirms eight new re/insurance entity registrations in March

The Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA) confirmed eight new re/insurance entity registrations in March 2021.

The new launches included four restricted special purpose insurers: Sakura Re, Eagle Re 2021-1, Oaktown Re VI and Concordia Re.

DNA Genetics Insurance was licensed as a class two, multi owner captive, while Capspan was approved with a class three license.

The BMA also approved Kettle as an innovative intermediary and BGC Re (Bermuda) as an insurance broker.

Year to date the BMA has registered 14 insurers and five intermediaries.
