Blue Capital’s net profit decreases while revenues rise year to date
Blue Capital Reinsurance Holdings (Blue Capital), a Bermuda-based reinsurer, reported a net income decrease to $10.3 million for the nine months ended September 30, 2016, compared with $15.3 million it reported for the same period of 2015.
However, the reinsurer’s total revenues increased to $31.6 million in the nine-month period of 2016, compared with $28.7 million in 2015.
In addition to the risen revenues, Blue Capital has also reported an increase in its reinsurance premiums written to $7.8 million in the third quarter of 2016, compared with $5.9 million in the same period of 2015.
The combined ratio in the nine month period increased significantly to 66.4 percent in 2016, compared with 46.1 percent in the same period of 2015.
