Athene Holding will sell $500 million of 6.150 percent senior unsecured notes, due 2030, in an offering that is expected to close on April 3.
Athene will use the net proceeds for general corporate purposes, including support of investment opportunities, organic and inorganic growth and its commitment to Athene Co-Invest Reinsurance Affiliate (ACRA).
The Notes are being offered pursuant to an effective shelf registration statement that has previously been filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The transaction is subject to satisfaction of customary closing conditions.
Barclays, J.P. Morgan, RBC Capital Markets and Wells Fargo Securities are acting as active joint book-running managers for the offering.
11 May 2020 Athene Holding reported a net loss of $1.1 billion for Q1 2020, compared to net profit of $708 million for the same period in 2019, which it said was primarily driven by a decline in the fair value of its reinsurance assets due to widening credit spread.
17 April 2020 Athene Life Re and its parent company Athene Holding have partnered with Athora Holding, Aspen Insurance Holdings and Catalina Holdings, to acquire eight life-assisting ventilators for the Bermuda Hospitals Board (BHB).
