Aspen shuffles senior management

Ann Haugh will join Aspen Insurance as both global chief underwriting officer and chief operating officer, a new position within the business. Separately, Aspen is creating integrated property and casualty sub-segments in both its international and US operations.

Haugh joins Aspen from Zurich, where she served as group chief of staff. Rupert Villers, chairman of Aspen Insurance, said: “appointing a global CUO and COO provides a single focal point in terms of underwriting oversight and the day-to-day management of operational issues across the business. This new role adds to the strength of our insurance management team and will bring an even sharper focus to our global underwriting and operational strategies.”

Bob Patten and Bob Rheel have been appointed co-heads of Aspen’s Insurance’s global P&C business.

Mario Vitale, chief executive of Aspen Insurance, said: “moving to this structure will bring a coordinated sector approach to P&C business both in the US and globally. Bob Patten and Bob Rheel are ideally qualified to lead our ambitious in this important market segment.”
