Specialty re/insurer Argo Group has established a graduate training programme in Bermuda for those looking to gain experience and exposure to the re/insurance industry.

Student participating in the Argo Group Graduate Training Program will rotate through a variety of departments at Argo Insurance and Ariel Re until September 2020.

“Argo Group is committed to helping train and develop young talent in Bermuda,” said Dianna Mitchell, senior human resources business partner at Argo Group. “We developed the Argo Group Graduate Training Program to help recent graduates plan for the future and to show them what it is like to work in international business. Training programs like ours are important to build the local workforce and continue to give back to the community.”

So far, four graduates have been selected to take part in the programme. They include: Ryan Asrcott-Spencer, a graduate from St. John’s University with a Bachelor of Science in actuarial science; Tatyana Butterfield, a graduate from Temple University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in risk management and insurance; Daniel Pell, a graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in economics from University of Waterloo; and Brittney Walbaum, a graduate from Hawaii Pacific University with a Bachelor of Science in mathematics, and from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science in psychology.

“Being selected as a 2018 Graduate Trainee brings me one step closer to my career goal of becoming a underwriter,” said Butterfield. “I am grateful to belong to a company that is so committed to its employees, clients and communities.”
