Argo Group Bermuda makes $100,000 donation to COVID-19 Emergency Fund
Argo Group International Holdings’ employees, along with the Argo Foundation, have contributed more than $100,000 to support the COVID-19 Emergency Fund.
William Wharton, head of Argo Insurance Bermuda and chair of the Argo Foundation, said the Foundation board had voted to donate $25,000 to the Emergency Fund, which is managed by the Bermuda Community Foundation.
“We will, of course, continue to support other local charities, as the future still remains quite uncertain,” said Wharton.
Ryan Mather, global head of reinsurance, noted the culture of giving at Argo Group that extends to its employees. “Many have generously donated personal funds to support the Emergency Fund,” he said. “By utilising the Argo Group charitable matching programme, we have worked together to create a bigger impact than any of us could do alone.”
