AIG chief operating officer moves to Hamilton USA

Hamilton USA (Hamilton), the US insurance platform of Bermuda-based Hamilton Insurance Group, has appointed Michael Garceau as chief operating officer (COO), effective October 17, 2016.

Garceau will report to Seraina Macia, CEO of Hamilton. He will be responsible for the platform’s operations, IT and finance functions.

With over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry, Garceau's most recent position was COO of AIG's Europe, Middle East and Africa region.

Prior to AIG he worked at XL Catlin from 2010 to 2015, where he was chief financial officer of its global insurance division, leading all aspects of finance including strategic planning and analysis, quarterly results, budgeting, re-forecasting, expense management and financial reporting.

“I am delighted to welcome Michael to Hamilton USA. Having worked with him in the past, I know first-hand the significant strengths, both strategic and tactical, that he brings to his new position,” said Macia.

“As we identify the many opportunities represented by the $500 billion US P&C market, Michael will play a key role in ensuring the decisions we make are executed in a sound and sustainable manner.”
