Mina Sahib joins mea Platform as VP, MENA to spearhead regional AI expansion

AI-powered insurtech mea Platform has appointed Mina Sahib (pictured) as vice president, MENA, tasking her with leading the company’s regional expansion as it looks to capitalise on growing demand for insurance-focused AI solutions across the Middle East and North Africa.

Sahib brings nearly two decades of experience in the global insurance industry, having started her career in 2008 in P&C claims at State Farm Insurance in Toronto. After relocating to the Middle East in 2013, she held leadership roles spanning operations, digital transformation and customer experience.

She most recently founded The Code Consultancy, advising insurers and insurtechs on transformation, implementation and strategy, and previously served as an associate analyst at Celent, supporting its global insurance practice in the Middle East. She is also the founder of Women’s Insurance Network – MENA (W.I.N. MENA), a community launched in 2020 to support female insurance professionals in the region.

Max Richter, EMEA chief executive officer at mea Platform, said: “Mina has spent much of her career helping insurers navigate digital transformation across the Middle East. As the industry moves from AI experimentation toward operational deployment, her regional expertise and industry relationships will be central to expanding mea Operations across the market.”

Sahib added: “Insurance markets across the Middle East are investing heavily in AI as they look to build and expand on their digital strategy. mea’s solutions include targeting a major pain point for our industry, and our insurance-tailored AI platform provides insurers with a range of modular solutions that can impact operational efficiencies and contribute towards their overall data strategy. I’m looking forward to support in introducing these capabilities to the insurance sector across the region.”
