Vantage appoints Lucy Fato as general counsel

Vantage has appointed Lucy Fato (pictured) as general counsel and strategic adviser to executive chairman Marc Grandisson, as the Bermuda insurer enters a new chapter following its acquisition by Howard Hughes Holdings in June 2026.

Fato brings more than three decades of experience in legal, compliance, regulatory and corporate governance roles across the insurance and financial services industries. She succeeds Bobbi Anderson, who has stepped down from the role.

She joins from Seaport Entertainment Group, where she served as executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary since its spin-off by Howard Hughes Holdings in August 2024.

Earlier in her career, Fato was vice chair and general counsel of American International Group, where she oversaw global legal, compliance, communications and government affairs functions. She also served as general counsel and head of the Americas at Nardello & Co., general counsel of S&P Global and deputy general counsel and corporate secretary of Marsh McLennan.

Fato began her career at Davis Polk & Wardwell, spending 14 years at the firm, including five as a partner in its capital markets group.

Her appointment follows Howard Hughes Holdings’s acquisition of Vantage, which was completed in June 2026.
