WiRe Bermuda launches inaugural ReWiRe conference for women in reinsurance
Women in Reinsurance Bermuda (WiRe) has announced the launch of ReWiRe, a new flagship conference aimed at bringing women from across Bermuda’s reinsurance industry together for a day of industry insight, professional development and networking.
The inaugural event will take place on October 29, 2026, at the Hamilton Princess Hotel & Beach Club and is designed for women across all stages of their careers, from emerging professionals to senior leaders.
The one-day conference will feature keynote presentations, industry and leadership panels, interactive breakout sessions, technical and professional development content and networking opportunities.
Discussions will cover the macroeconomic and geopolitical shifts reshaping risk and markets, the evolution of third-party capital, leadership and career progression, financial wellbeing and the changing demands of a modern reinsurance career.
June Sarpong OBE, an internationally recognised broadcaster, author and former Global Director of Creative Diversity at the BBC, will deliver the inaugural keynote.
Her session will focus on developing presence and authority, authentic leadership and how women can shape the next stage of their careers and the wider industry.
Peta White, chair of WiRe Bermuda and president of Vantage Risk, said the event was designed to offer more than traditional conference programming:
“When we started thinking about ReWiRe, we asked ourselves what would make women in our industry want to take a day out of their busy schedules to be there. We wanted something more than a conference; a day of honest conversations, sharp insight from industry experts, and genuine connection for women at every stage of their careers.
“As WiRe's new signature event, we want every attendee to leave feeling energised, connected and equipped to make their next move with confidence. I'm proud of what the WiRe team is building, and I can't wait to see the room come together this October.”
The event is supported by founding sponsors including Aflac Re and RenaissanceRe as headline sponsors; AXA XL, Brit Re and Vantage Risk as platinum sponsors; Ariel Re, Athene and Oliver Wyman as gold sponsors; and Chariot Re and Liberty Mutual as silver sponsors.
