Vantage Risk appoints Hannover’s José Miranda to lead risk analytics
Vantage Risk, the Bermuda-based re/insurer that launched at the end of 2020 under the chairmanship of former Arch Capital chief executive and president Dinos Iordanou, has hired José Miranda from Hannover Re.
Miranda will be the company’s new risk analytics lead.
He joins after little more than a year with Hannover, where he was a senior catastrophe analyst. Before that, he spent over four years with Markel, most recently as a senior research analyst. With over a decade of industry experience, Miranda started his career with the cat modelling business EQECAT before moving to Bermuda as an analyst with Tokio Millennium Re.
“I want to personally thank [Hannover Re chief underwriting officer] Dirk Hasselkuss and Dennis Brauchle [deputy CRO and head of P&C actuarial] for the opportunities you have given to me this past year,” Miranda wrote in a LinkedIn update announcing his new role.
Vantage launched in December 2020 intending to underwrite risk where existing capacity was shrinking, seeking to “add creativity to tech-enabled efficiency and robust analytics” to address its clients’ risks.
