BMA chief to take part in investment panel
Bermuda Monetary Authority chief executive officer Craig Swan will participate in a panel discussion on navigating the investment landscape during the upcoming NAIC International Insurance Forum.
Swan will be joined by Douglas Neimann, executive vice president and chief risk officer, Athene Holding Ltd.; Pooja Rahman, chief risk officer, Transamerica; and AM Best managing director Ken Johnson. The event takes place from May 16-17, 2024, at the Hyatt Regency Washington in Washington, D.C. The panel is at 1.45pm on May 16.
The panel is titled, “Positioning for the Future – Navigating the Investment Landscape” and will be moderated by Virginia Bureau of Insurance Commissioner Scott A. White, who is also NAIC vice president.
The panel will be of particular interest because Bermuda-based life re/insurers have come under increased scrutiny over their investment policies.
Johnson joined AM Best in 2009 and manages a team of senior analysts that oversee the rating recommendations for those rated companies in the life/annuity and property/casualty composites industry. He is also a co-founding member of AM Best’s Investment Working Group and Hybrid Evaluation Group.
