AXIS Capital promotes general counsel to chief administrative officer

AXIS Capital has promoted general counsel Conrad Brooks to be chief administrative and legal officer. 

He is succeeded by deputy general counsel and corporate secretary Christina Gray-Trefry as general counsel. 

Brooks, who was became general counsel in 2016, will oversee human resources, in addition to his current oversight of our internal audit, data privacy, legal/compliance, and marketing and communication units – as well as corporate citizenship initiatives. 

Brooks has been with AXIS for more than 17 years. He was previously in private practice and was also a US Navy officer. 

Gray-Trefry will guide day-to-day running of the Legal / Compliance unit. She will continue to serve as Corporate Secretary and oversee the corporate legal and corporate secretary team, AXIS said. 

Gray-Trefry has been with AXIS in a variety of corporate counsel roles since 2016. She was previously the associate general counsel for the owner of fashion line Ann Taylor and in private practice.
