Arch names Ondine Bourrut Lacouture lead underwriter for Lloyd’s syndicate

Bermuda-based Arch Capital Group has promoted Ondine Bourrut Lacouture (pictured), previously head of long-tail lines, to active underwriter of Arch Syndicate 1955 at Lloyd’s.

Bourrut Lacouture succeeds Simon Williams, who served as the active underwriter of Syndicate 1955 since its acquisition. Williams will continue in his role as chief strategy and distribution officer of Arch Insurance International.

With Arch’s insurance and reinsurance teams more than tripling stamp capacity since the acquisition of Syndicate 1955 in 2019, the syndicate is now a diversified vehicle for Arch and its supporting third-party capital, the re/insurer said. 

“We congratulate Ondine on her promotion. It’s a tribute to her underwriting acumen and our belief in her ability to meaningfully and thoughtfully continue to grow Syndicate 1955,” said Jerome Halgan, president and CUO of Arch Reinsurance Group.
