Acrisure Re expands to West Coast with new San Francisco office

Bermuda-based Acrisure Re, the reinsurance arm of global broker Acrisure, has launched a new office in San Francisco as part of its West Coast expansion.

Senior vice president Danny Souza (pictured) will establish and lead Acrisure Re’s West Coast presence from the San Francisco office. Souza will continue to report to Marc Piccione, partner and managing director of the New York office.

Acrisure Re said the move expanded its reach into one of the most dynamic and innovative markets in North America. 

Mark Hargreaves, senior vice president, will also be based in San Francisco and will have a key role in the growth of the California platform.

Souza, who joined Acrisure Re in 2016, will maintain his leadership responsibilities in New York in close partnership with Marc Piccione, ensuring collaboration and continuity across both offices. 

“California offers a significant opportunity for new treaty business and deeper collaboration with the Acrisure West Coast network,” said Simon Hedley, CEO of Acrisure Re. “It is great to have Danny leading this effort, and this marks an exciting step in our North American expansion.”

Marc Piccione, partner and managing director, added: “Danny has been an exceptional partner in the growth of our New York platform, and I’m looking forward to our continued collaboration as he leads our California expansion.
