
Vantage reorganises US excess casualty team
Vantage Group Holdings has added two executives to its senior casualty leadership.
The Bermuda-based re/insurer has appointed Thomas Krzmarzick (pictured left) as head of US excess casualty and Thomas Burtle (pictured centre) chief underwriting officer (CUO) of casualty.
Krzmarzick, who will be responsible for portfolio management, balancing capital utilisation and underwriting leadership, has spent three years as vice president, Vantage Risk. Prior to joining Vantage, he was deputy head of US excess casualty at Aspen Insurance Group.
Burtle has been with Vantage for four years, most recently as vice president, excess casualty. He was an underwriter at Sompo International before joining Vantage and will be responsible for maintaining underwriting quality and standards.
The pair will jointly lead the execution of business plans, developing casualty products and establishing underwriting guidelines. In addition to reviewing portfolios, they will continue to underwrite business themselves.
Meanwhile, Sean Hansen (pictured right), who has been with Vantage for three years, has been promoted to underwriting manager-US excess casualty. In his new role, Hansen will be responsible for managing a book of business and leading the daily operations of an underwriting team.
