RenRe rebrands its ventures unit, names Parry to lead it

RenaissanceRe will rebrand its ventures business as RenaissanceRe Capital Partners (RCP) and named Chris Parry, senior vice president and global head of RCP, pending Bermuda immigration approval.

RCP will remain focused on managing RenaissanceRe’s third-party capital relationships, joint ventures and managed funds, including DaVinci, Medici, Top Layer, Upsilon, and Vermeer.

The strategic investments pillar of the business has been renamed RenaissanceRe Strategic Investments (RSI), which is led by Jonathan Anderson, senior vice president and global head of RSI.

Anderson reports to Bob Qutub, chief financial officer, and is responsible for seeking and managing public and private investments that generate attractive risk-adjusted returns while advancing RenaissanceRe’s business objectives.

Parry will report to Kevin O’Donnell, RenRe’s president and chief executive officer.

O’Donnell said RenRe’s partnerships with third party investors has been critical to its success. “Our strategy is to match attractive risk with efficient capital, and over the last two decades, our third-party capital management business has grown into one of the most distinguished in the industry,” he said.

Qutub emphasised the importance of integrating the business. “Bringing RSI under the finance umbrella will unify our investment approach, enhance our business capabilities and increase shareholder value,” he explained.
