RenRe exec joins Aspen Re

Bermuda-based Aspen Re has appointed a former RenaissanceRe executive as head of portfolio analytics.

Douglas De Couto will be based in Bermuda and report to Alan Calder, head of group catastrophe risk management.

De Couto joins from RenaissanceRe, where he most recently served as assistant vice president of corporate risk.

Stephen Postlewhite, chief executive officer of Aspen Re, said: “Douglas has a proven track record of using his deep technical expertise to solve strategic business issues, particularly in areas such as portfolio optimisation and modelling as well as capital allocation and efficiency, and he will provide leadership and insight as we enhance further our catastrophe risk management analytical processes and technology strategy. He will be a valuable addition to our management team and we are delighted that he has decided to join us at Aspen Re.”
