Bermuda residents are once again preparing to batten down as another hurricane sets its sights on the island.
Hurricane Tammy is projected to pass close to the island on Saturday, although it is projected to weaken to a tropical storm as it passes over colder water.
It is currently located 527 nautical miles south-southeast of the island moving northeast at 8 knots after hitting Barbuda yesterday.
Its closest point of approach within the next 72 hours is forecast to be 189 nautical miles to the east of the island at 6am on Friday, but most projections have the storm moving closer to the island on Saturday before passing to the north.
It is currently packing winds of 65 knots gusting to 80 knots, but it is expected to weaken as it moves to the north and is projected to have winds of around 50 knots as it passes the island.
Bermuda has had an active hurricane season with at least three storms passing nearby the island since July.
