RiverStone International has appointed David Soutter as group chief risk officer, strengthening oversight of risk, capital and regulatory matters across the business.
Soutter will report to group chief executive officer Paul Brockman, having joined RiverStone International as head of risk in Bermuda in April 2025.
Soutter has more than 25 years of experience in the global reinsurance market, spanning enterprise risk management, finance, capital oversight, regulatory engagement and governance across highly regulated insurance environments.
Before joining RiverStone International, Soutter held senior leadership positions at Zurich Insurance Group, including chief financial officer of its Bermuda operations and project director, internal reinsurance.
He is deputy chair of the Insurance and Reinsurance Legacy Association Bermuda and treasurer of the Bermuda Foundation for Insurance Studies.
Brockman said: “Since joining RiverStone International, David has made a significant contribution to the business and has quickly established himself as a trusted member of our experienced leadership team. His extensive expertise and deep understanding of risk, capital and regulatory matters make him ideally placed to lead our global Risk function. I look forward to continuing to work closely with David in his new role.”
