Everest Re’s US division creates leisure specialty group

The US-based division of Everest Re has announced the formation of Specialty Insurance Group (SIG), a managing general agency focused on the sports and leisure industries.

SIG will provide a range of insurance products and solutions, from contingency covers to event cancellations, sporting events covers and prize indemnities.

It will underwrite risks on behalf of Everest National and its New Jersey-based affiliate Everest Indemnity Insurance Company, among other risk-bearing entities.

Greg Mosher, a former partner of sports, leisure and entertainment insurance specialist K&K Insurance, will act as SIG’s managing director.

He said: “I look forward to working with Daryl [W. Bradley, Everest National Insurance Co’s president] and the Everest team. The SIG management team is uniquely qualified to provide specialised solutions for our customers.

“Backed by the excellent financial strength of our partner, Everest National Insurance Co., rated A+ by A.M. Best, we will be the ‘Thought Leaders’ in the specialised sports and leisure insurance segment.”

Bradley said: “This new venture enhances our specialty product capabilities and we are fortunate to have Greg’s leadership and expertise in the development of this new platform.”

David Harris will take the role of senior vice president, with Lowery Johnson acting as vice president.
