Everest Re names head of structured solutions unit

Bermuda-based Everest Re has appointed Marty Scherzer as head of its structured solution unit.

Scherzer will be responsible for the structured solution capabilities across the Everest Group, and will be based in New York.

Scherzer has more than 30 years of industry experience, and most recently served as president of AIG’s alternative risk solutions unit.

Within AIG he spent more than 14 years in a variety of non-traditional areas, including senior management positions in risk finance, global risk solutions, multinational, and alternative risk solutions.

Prior to AIG, Scherzer worked at Marsh & McLennan Companies where he was managing director and head of origination and structuring in the enterprise risk division.
