Chaucer underwriter moves to Aon

Bermuda-based Chaucer Group US casualty reinsurance underwriter Zak Mallen has moved to Aon’s Bermuda office as a head of strategic growth for casualty reinsurance.

Mallen spent ten years at Chaucer and had been in its Bermuda office since September 2020.

He was previously at Aspen from 2007 to 2013 as an assistant underwriter.

In a post on LinkedIn, he said: “After 10 superb years at Chaucer Group I’m on to pastures new. I am truly grateful to have worked alongside so many top class people in the last decade. It has been a privilege.

 “Returning recharged after paternity leave with my family, I am delighted to say that I’ve joined Aon as a Head of Strategic Growth for Casualty Reinsurance in Bermuda. Can’t wait to get cracking in a phenomenal team we have here on island.”
