Bermuda processed 222 new COVID-19 test results on April 21, turning up 12 additional positive cases of the virus and taking the island’s confirmed case count to 98.
Of the new cases 11 were confirmed as imported while one is under investigation.
Meanwhile, the government unveiled temporary emergency measures to assist local and permit companies that have not been able to pay their statutory and fee obligations electronically, with government offices closed due to shelter in place requirements.
Companies that were unable to submit the necessary filings and payments electronically have been granted an extension to June 30. Failure to comply by that date will result in the imposition of applicable penalties, the government said, but those that would have applied for late payment to date have been waived.
