Nelson Brown considering Bermuda office

Law firm Nelson Brown, which recently renamed from Nelson Levine, is considering a Bermuda office for 2015 as the company looks to cement its commitment to the international insurance sector.

The company has said that it actively considering developing its capabilities in key international insurance centres—with Bermuda among them—as it looks to strengthen its “signature service mark Focused on the Business of Insurance

“We have been on a clear path of focusing the firm’s resources on issues that are at the heart of the insurance industry’s needs,” said firm chairman, Mike Nelson.

Managing partner and now name partner David Brown added that “the changes we are making will enable us to invest more heavily in the practice areas in great demand by the global insurance market: national coverage, reinsurance, complex litigation, bad faith, institutional business practices, regulatory, and London, Bermuda and international markets.”

The firm’s shareholders have voted to rename the firm Nelson Brown Hamilton & Krekstein LLC (Nelson Brown & Co.), and the firm has parted ways with its Pennsylvania-based subrogation unit as well as several lawyers in southern New Jersey.
