Vantage taps Elementum as it expands into alternative risk capital

Bermuda-based re/insurer Vantage Group Holdings has strengthened its partnership capital platform with the appointment of Steve Fales (pictured) as senior vice president of investor relations.

He will report to Chris McKeown, chief executive reinsurance, insurance-linked securities (ILS), and innovation.

Fales will drive growth in Vantage’s partnership capital business by leveraging its specialty reinsurance portfolios to create private ILS, collateralised reinsurance, and other alternative capital opportunities. He will work across the firm to align with Vantage’s strategic goals.

He joins from nat cat risk investment advisor Elementum Advisors, where he served 11 years, most recently as senior vice president, business development and investor relations.

“Steve brings a wealth of experience in business development in the ILS space,” said McKeown.

“His well-regarded track record with investors is due to his ability to communicate the unique proposition that re/insurance presents to sophisticated investors. His comfort with both the investor community and the fundamentals of the reinsurance market will be instrumental in advancing our strategic initiatives and accelerating our growth trajectory.
