Liberty Mutual promotes David Perez to chief underwriting officer for GRS

Liberty Mutual Insurance has appointed David Perez as chief underwriting officer for global risk solutions (GRS), its global commercial and specialty lines re/insurer.

He succeeds James Slaughter, who decided to leave the company effective June 30.

Perez partners with underwriting leaders across GRS to drive underwriting strategy and operations. He has been with Liberty Mutual since 2012, most recently as chief underwriting officer for North America.

Dennis Langwell, president of GRS, said: "[Perez] has the underwriting and management expertise to bring value to our business partners and policyholders around the world.”
