Liberty Mutual appoints Steve Deane as chief claims officer for GRS in North America

Liberty Mutual Insurance has appointed Steve Deane as North America chief claims officer for global risk solutions (GRS), its global commercial and specialty lines re/insurer.

Deane leads a 3,000-person team of claims professionals and is responsible for all aspects of executive claims management and service delivery.  He reports to GRS North America president Tracy Ryan.

Deane previously led The Hartford's group benefits and workers’ compensation claims organisation, before which he was an attorney at Robinson & Cole, working on the insurance litigation team.

Ryan called Liberty Mutual’s claims team its “defining strength”, predicting Deane will continue to build on the value it delivers.
