Markel CATCo appoints chief compliance officer

Markel CATCo Investment Management, a Bermuda-based company that offers a wide range of products for reinsurers, has appointed John Whiley as its chief compliance officer.

Prior to Markel CATCo, Whiley was involved in the launch of over 40 percent of Bermuda's ILS funds, and has extensive experience in reinsurance fund and ILS SPV structuring work as well as advising on fund operational control matters.

Additionally, Whiley has experience in advising clients on AML related matters, helping to ensure that they were fully compliant with Bermuda's anti-money laundering regulations. He was also responsible for leading Prime Administration's service solutions including AIFMD and FATCA services.
