Hurlburt joins Aspen Re as head of North American Surety

Scott Hurlburt has joined Aspen Re as senior vice president and head of North American Surety. Hurlburt will be based Connecticut and will focus on developing a surety reinsurance book of business for Aspen Re in the US and Canada.

Prior to joining Aspen Re Hurlburt served as vice president, specialty lines at Partner Re and completed stints at Swiss Re in Zurich and on the North American Credit and Surety Underwriting team.

Mike Sowa, managing director of Aspen Re North America, commented: “Scott has more than twenty years of both insurance and reinsurance experience in the US and internationally. His appointment shows the continued growing strength of Aspen’s reinsurance business particularly in North America.”
