Policy Expert names Convex’s Matt Wilson as chief financial officer

Policy Expert has appointed Matt Wilson as chief financial officer, with the former Convex Group UK CFO joining the insurtech to lead its financial strategy as it targets further growth across its home, motor and pet insurance lines.

Wilson (pictured) joins from Convex Group, where he served as UK chief financial officer. He joined Convex in 2019, shortly after its establishment, following 14 years at Deloitte, and played a role in its expansion to more than $5bn of gross written premium.

Wilson also helped guide Convex through an acquisition valued at $7bn last year. At Policy Expert, he will lead the company’s financial strategy as it targets further long-term growth across its home, motor and pet insurance lines.

His appointment follows the retirement of Kevin Chidwick, who spent four years at Policy Expert and 40 years in the industry. Policy Expert’s results for the 12 months ending December 31 2025 showed revenue of £210.3 million, up 2.7% year-on-year, while underlying group EBITDA rose 13.2% to £62.4 million.

The appointment follows the additions of Graham Wright as chief growth officer and Richard Kirby as chief operating officer, completing an evolution of Policy Expert’s executive team.
