Bermuda provides facilities for people unable to self isolate at home

Bermuda is providing facilities for residents that do not have an appropriate place to self-quarantine.

Addressing the public on March 19, Wayne Caines, Bermuda’s Minister of National Security, said the Royal Bermuda Regiment has been helping to transport people who are unable to self-quarantine at their residence to these public facilities.

Caines noted the government is working to help Bermudians that are stranded on cruise ships and are trying to return home. Once their passage back to Bermuda has been arranged, these passengers will be required to self-quarantine, he added.

Caines reiterated that while Bermuda’s ports have been closed to tourists, ships continue to bring food and other provisions to the island.

The Ministry of Education is also working hard to provide remote learning capabilities for public school students, he added, to maintain similar routines to typical school days.

He promised additional information regarding remote learning will be provided in the coming days.
