Pwc Bermuda to bring global insurance leaders together for annual summit

PwC Bermuda will bring more than 400 insurance industry executives together in Hamilton for its 19th annual Insurance Summit on November 10, with global leaders set to discuss the risks, opportunities and strategic decisions shaping the future of re/insurance.

The summit will take place at the Hamilton Princess Hotel and is expected to attract representatives from more than 175 organisations. 

The event presents a high calibre of influential voices. Progamme highlights announced so far include discussions on issues including capital allocation, market transformation, talent, technology and the changing nature of risk featuring the perspectives of Stephen Catlin, founder and life president of Convex Group; Dan Glaser, operating partner at Clayton, Dubilier & Rice and former CEO of Marsh & McLennan; and Fiona Luck, deputy chair and senior independent director of the Council of Lloyd’s.

Artificial intelligence will be a key theme, with Dr Oliver Wing, chief scientific and product officer at Fathom, exploring AI’s impact on disaster modelling and flood risk. In addition, Dr Alok Aggarwal, founder, CEO and chief data scientist of Scry AI and board member of Portage AI, will examine the evolving role of AI in insurance, including document intelligence for financial services.

Other topics will include growth opportunities in a volatile environment, climate risk and prevention, systemic cyber risk, talent and workforce dynamics, interconnected climate, cyber and geopolitical risks, legacy business, capital partnerships and convergence, and growth in life re/insurance including asset-intensive reinsurance.

Arthur Wightman, PwC Bermuda territory and insurance leader, said the summit provides an annual platform for industry leaders to share perspectives and consider responses to rapid change.
