Fortitude Re looks within for head of internal audit
Bermuda-based Fortitude Re has promoted Carla Albertze to be senior vice president, head of internal audit.
As head of internal audit, Carla will be responsible for leading Fortitude Re’s internal audit team to ensure the strength, effectiveness and efficiency of the company’s internal controls, risk management processes, and governance procedures.
Albertze brings a wealth of experience to the role, most recently serving as VP, Internal Audit, where she performed audits in a number of areas including deal pricing, model risk management, system implementations, data migrations, enterprise risk management, and more.
Albertze joined the life and property casualty re/insurer in 2022 from KPMG, where she focused on performing external audits of SEC registrants. During her tenure at KPMG, she spent five years working with clients in the reinsurance industry in Bermuda.
Albertze is a Certified Chartered Accountant and a member of both the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Chartered Professionals Accountants of Bermuda.
