Everest hires new head of treaty casualty & surety
Everest Reinsurance has appointed Jiten Voralia as senior vice president and head of treaty casualty & surety, effective 6 June, 2022. Voralia will succeed Dennis Alba, who previously announced his retirement from Everest after a successful 40-year career in the industry.
Prior to Everest, Voralia served as Swiss Re’s head of US global casualty treaty underwriting, where he drove bottom line profitability for the division’s underwriting portfolio, Everest said. He also led the US casualty operation and was a member of the global casualty executive team while he was joint interim head of US casualty treaty underwriting.
He will report directly to Jill Beggs, head of North America reinsurance, who said: “Jiten’s leadership and skillset will be invaluable in the current environment, helping us to identify and respond to the rapidly evolving needs of our brokers and clients. I look forward to working closely with Jiten as we continue to strengthen our treaty casualty & surety portfolio with new and innovative solutions.”
Voralia also held various actuarial and casualty treaty underwriting roles while at Swiss Re, including head of pricing in Asia, Australia and New Zealand as well as head of casualty treaty underwriting for Australia, New Zealand and the US. Before Swiss Re, Voralia worked as a reinsurance pricing actuary at Aon (previously Benfield) in London and Sydney, and as a general insurance actuarial consultant at PwC in London.
