Everest hires Beggs from Munich Re as it invests in reinsurance

Everest Re has hired Jill Beggs as senior vice president and head of North America reinsurance. Joining November 15, Beggs will oversee the strategic direction of Everest’s reinsurance business in the United States, Canada, and Bermuda and report directly to Everest group COO and head of reinsurance Jim Williamson.

She joins Everest from Munich Re where, where she has worked for 20 years in various roles leading US treaty and facultative programs across multiple lines. Most recently, she was president of excess and surplus lines for Munich Re Specialty Insurance. She is also credited with spearheading its E&S insurance start-up and its innovation incubator.

Beggs has worked at Everest before, beginning her career in treaty property underwriting for the business in the US and Latin America.

At Everest, Beggs will also work with Connie Germano. Currently president and head of specialty casualty for Everest Insurance, Germano is moving to the reinsurance division. As senior vice president for treaty casualty and surety, she will report directly to Beggs.
