
Hoffman leaves Everest for James River
James River Holdings has appointed Mike Hoffman as its new group chief underwriting officer. In the new role, he will lead a team responsible for underwriting, enterprise risk and ceded reinsurance strategy across the group, according to the business. He will report to chief executive officer Frank D’Orazio.
Hoffman joins from Everest Insurance, part of Everest Re, which he joined last August as head of risk and ceded reinsurance. Before that, he was with Allied World Assurance for 15 years and was global insurance chief underwriting officer.
D’Orazio, a former corporate chief operating officer & chief of staff at Allied World, said: “It is very exciting to welcome Mike to James River. With over thirty years of deep property and casualty underwriting and risk expertise, he is the right person to lead this key function. I am looking forward to working with him again.”.
