Chaucer names Jordan Ray head of renewable energy

Specialty re/insurer Chaucer has appointed Jordan Ray as head of renewable energy and energy transition to strengthen its renewable energy underwriting strategy.

Based in London, she will report to Simon Schnorr, head of marine and energy.

Working closely with Schnorr, Ray will lead the development of Chaucer’s renewables underwriting strategy, manage her team, and drive strategic, cross-class solutions to support clients’ energy transition goals.

Ray, with more than a decade of underwriting experience, joins from the Fidelis Partnership, where she was head of renewable energy for four years. She previously spent five years as a property treaty underwriter at Agora Syndicate 3268, after a similar role at Tamesis DUAL.

Schnorr said: “Chaucer is a global leader in the energy market, and Jordan’s expertise, dedication and enthusiasm will help us maintain our position as the preferred partner in this sector. Her strong ambition and impressive drive will be instrumental as we expand our portfolio and deliver outstanding renewable and energy transition solutions to our clients. I’m excited to welcome her to the team.”
