Chariot Re names MetLife veteran Reena Pally as CIO

Newly launched Bermuda-based life and annuity reinsurer Chariot Re, backed by MetLife and General Atlantic, has appointed Reena Pally(pictured) as chief investment officer.

Pally steps into the role following 23 years at MetLife, most recently as managing director of MetLife real estate.

Pally, on LinkedIn, commented: “I am excited to embark upon my next chapter as chief investment officer of Chariot Re.

“I am grateful for my years at MetLife, where I forged lasting relationships and learned multiple markets, all while being guided by extraordinary mentors and executive leadership.”

The Metlife and General Atlantic partnership took form in July 2025, with Chariot Re expected to reinsure approximately $10 billion of liabilities, including structured settlement annuity contracts and group annuity contracts associated with pension risk transfers originated by MetLife.
