Arch appoints ex Scor lead underwriter Stephen Convery

Bermuda-based Arch Insurance International has appointed Stephen Convery as a senior construction underwriter to refine its underwriting approach in construction risk.

Convery is responsible for growing Arch’s construction portfolio, which provides coverage on a global basis for large and complex risks. Based in London, he will report to Tim Chapman, head of construction.

Convery has over 18 years of experience in the construction insurance market and, prior to joining Arch, was a senior construction underwriter at Scor. His appointment follows the recent appointment of Chapman as head of construction in June 2025.

Chapman said: “Stephen is a recognised lead underwriter in the global construction market, with strong broker relationships and a deep understanding of the risks surrounding major construction projects. He will play a key role as we grow our construction portfolio.”
