Appleby Global Services CEO retires after 30 years
Veteran re/insurance lawyer Tim Faries has retired from Appleby after 30 years with the leading law firm.
Faries, who was chief executive officer of Appleby Global Services, has long been regarded as one of the leading insurance lawyers in Bermuda and was named as an eminent practitioner in the Chambers and Partners Law Firm rankings.
Appleby said Faries officially retired last week, adding: "It has been a true privilege for our team to have worked alongside Tim, who held numerus leadership roles at Appleby and AGS over the years.
"Tim's wisdom, genuine warmth and steadfast commitment to his colleagues and clients have left an indelible mark on all of us, and his presence at Appleby will be missed.
"As Tim embarks on this new chapter, we extend our heartfelt wishes for a future that is just as impactful and fulfilling as his carer with Appleby has been."
A new CEO of Appleby Global Services has not been named. Malcolm Moller of Appleby's Seychelles office, is group managing partner. Brad Adderley, who succeeded Faries as Bermuda managing partner in 2021, continues in that role.
Faries now describes himself on his LinkedIn page as owner and principal of Ascent Law.
Faries joined Appleby in 1993 and became a partner in 2000. He was global head of private client and trust from 2006 to 2011 and managing partner of the Bermuda office from 2015 to 2021.
Before retiring, Faries rode 100 kilometres in Canada to raise funds for New Hope, a live-in transition centre in Vancouver, Canada which provides clean, safe and affordable housing for refugee families for their first 18 months in the country.
