Alvarez & Marsal establishes Bermuda presence to serve re/insurance demand

Global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal has launched operations in Bermuda, with five senior hires expected to join the local team in the coming months to support growing demand from the island’s re/insurance market.

Backed by A&M’s global platform, the Bermuda practice will leverage specialised offshore expertise across the Caribbean and Atlantic and work closely with the firm’s teams in its London and New York headquarters. This connectivity offers cross-border solutions for clients with complex international needs.

The Bermuda operations bring experience across insurers, hedge funds, private equity, complex corporate  structures and special situations to clients in Hamilton.

A&M supports insurers, reinsurers, captives and corporate insurers with capital optimisation, risk governance, regulatory readiness and operating performance improvements.

Joseph Gordon will head up the new Bermuda office as managing director, bringing more than 20 years’ experience of restructuring, advisory, forensic investigations and corporate finance experience to the role. Prior to joining A&M in July 2025, Gordon held senior roles at PwC and Deloitte.

Alex Lawson joins as managing director to provide strategic oversight to the Bermuda practice.
