Xceedance has promoted Vijay Laxmi Tarafdar (pictured) to strengthen its Australian operations, as insurers face rising costs, greater catastrophe exposure and increasing customer expectations across the market.
Laxmi Tarafdar has been appointed associate vice president, client partner for Australia and New Zealand, relocating from the company’s India headquarters to join the Sydney-based team.
She brings more than 20 years of experience across insurance and business process outsourcing, including over a decade with Xceedance. Her background spans insurance operations, with leadership roles across Australia, Asia-Middle East, the UK and EU markets, where she has led global teams and business process transformation initiatives.
Tarafdar previously worked as a senior data quality analyst at StarStone Insurance and as a process executive at Axis Max Life Insurance.
She said: “Insurance in Australia is facing significant pressures. We’re seeing rising costs, more frequent natural disasters and customers who quite rightly expect more from their insurers. For the people working across the industry, that pressure is felt every day. But with every challenge comes opportunity, and at Xceedance we believe the key to moving forward isn’t just working harder – it’s working smarter.”
She added: “From underwriting reviews to claims triage and broker communications, small inefficiencies can quickly compound into major friction. By simplifying hand-offs, using data more intelligently and designing processes around people – not paperwork – the industry can unlock greater resilience, speed and trust.”
