
White Mountains taps Zurich for chief strategy officer
White Mountains Insurance Group has appointed veteran Zurich Insurance Company executive Giles Harrison as its executive vice president and chief strategy officer.
Harrison, who is chief financial officer of Zurich subsidiary Farmers Group, will take up the appointment on June 10.
Harrison has been with Zurich since 2015 having previously been an insurance sector investment banker for 20 years, in which capacity he advised White Mountains "on numerous projects".
White Mountains also announced that it had appointed chief financial officer Liam Caffrey as president of the company.
Manning Rountree, White Mountains' chief executive officer said: "We are pleased to announce Giles' hiring, and we look forward to welcoming him in June. Giles is a seasoned insurance executive and an old friend and trusted advisor to many of us here at White Mountains.
"We are also pleased to announce Liam's promotion, which is well deserved. Liam and Giles are strong business leaders who will create real value for White Mountains shareholders in the years to come."
