Triangle Life appoints Foley as chief underwriter and Guerin as deputy chief underwriter

Bermuda-based insurer Triangle Life has strengthened its high-net-worth (HNW) proposition with the appointments of Thomas Foley and Christopher Guerin, who together bring more than 70 years of underwriting experience.

Foley is a veteran chief underwriter with decades of experience in international HNW life insurance. He brings expertise in assessing complex medical and financial risks for HNW clients across global markets, most recently from his role as AVP, international life underwriting at SunLife Financial. At Triangle Life, he will lead the development of the underwriting function, including building and managing the new underwriting team.

Guerin brings over 35 years of underwriting experience, most recently as AVP at Transamerica Life Insurance Company. At Triangle Life, he will be dedicated to optimising underwriting processes and collaborating with brokers to deliver tailored solutions.

Niall O’Hare, CEO at Triangle Life, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Tom and Chris to the Triangle Life team. Their exceptional expertise in risk evaluation and nurturing broker relationships across the globe will be instrumental in shaping how we serve the high-net-worth market. Underwriting leadership is central to our value proposition and will drive the outstanding service we offer to brokers.”

Foley said: “Triangle Life is offering a unique proposition at a time when there is a significant market opportunity. The company has been built to harness that opportunity and to provide solutions that work best for brokers and their clients. I’m excited to join the team on this journey.”

Guerin said: “Triangle Life is transforming the high-net-worth space with a digital platform that puts brokers front and centre, while preserving the human connection that drives real business. Technology matters, but trust matters more. I’m thrilled to join at this pivotal moment — and especially to work with Tom — to give brokers the edge they need to serve their clients with confidence.”
